MyMusic is part of the Carers’ Music Fund, a fund that gives female carers across the UK opportunities for creative expression through music-making.
MyMusic is led by Northamptonshire Carers, and delivers a variety of music-making sessions including percussion, music technology and song-writing.
The project runs tailored sessions for four different groups of women: 50+ carers who have already joined a choir, young carers aged 7-17, families where there are mothers and daughters splitting caring responsibilities between them, and women caring for a loved one with dementia.
As with all of the Carers’ Music Fund projects, MyMusic prioritises the wellbeing of its participants. At the end of each cohort, events will be held to bring people together, celebrate the music produced and the skills developed.
