Sound Out is part of the Carers’ Music Fund, a fund that gives female carers across the UK opportunities for creative expression through music-making.
Delivered by Jack Drum Arts, Sound out is a project project developing musicianship, confidence, and connectedness for female carers in County Durham.
The proect uses song-writing, community singing and samba drumming to engage female carers in music-making.
Groups work with professional musicians to explore Rock, Folk, World, and Choral music in different venues, with opportunities to attend and perform at high profile festivals and events.
Sound Out engage with a range of female carers, including recently resettled Syrian refugee women who care for young children.
