How We Work

Theory of Change
One of the first actions we undertook on launch was to develop, with almost 40 stakeholders, a Theory of Change to guide the development of what we funded, how we would measure the impact of our funding and what sort of funder we wanted to be.
Impact Evaluations
Here, you’ll find the evaluations of our work by independent evaluation partners InFocus (2013 – 2017) and Renaisi (2018- 2021) as well as our Tenth Anniversary Impact report.

Funding Strategy
At Spirit of 2012, our funding decisions were guided by a clear strategy, which was updated and reviewed annually. Although we have now concluded our grant funding, we have published our approach, insights, and resources here to inspire and inform others seeking to create their own funding strategy.
Youth Advisory Panel
At Spirit of 2012, we continued to honour the commitment made by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to Inspire a Generation. One of our 4 Charitable Objects is: The advancement of education of children and young people, including but not limited to sporting and cultural activities. See how we empowered the Youth Advisory Panel to become a crucial part of our governance.
