Spirit of 2012 has awarded £5,000 to The Relationships Project to deliver a retreat for practitioners who work in the social connection space.
Convening of Conveners was jointly funded with the Astra Foundation and will give attendees the opportunity to exchange learning and insights amongst themselves, build relationships and collaborate with the shared pursuit of a better and more connected world. It will run from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon (17th & 18th July) at the Telegraph Hotel in Coventry.
Alex Johnston, National Grants & Policy Manager, will be attending on behalf of Spirit of 2012 with delegates also joining from the Jo Cox Foundation, /together, Belong: The Cohesion & Integration Network, Campaign to End Loneliness, Lloyds Bank Foundation and many others.
Ruth Hollis, Chief Executive of Spirit of 2012 said:
“Spirit’s ethos has always been to work in partnership with organisations with similar goals to ours, whether that be those we fund or those who support our work. This vital convening retreat will be a great opportunity for Spirit & other organisations to share notes on our work to increase social connection in communities.
We particularly look forward to discussing the role of events in making this happen – our Inquiry into the Power of Events recommends that events be designed and curated to bridge divides and we hope our fellow attendees will have insights to help us build on this work.”
