As Spirit of 2012 nears the end of its journey, we’re proud to leave behind something that will keep the spark alive: the Spirit Knowledge Bank. This is our way of ensuring that everything we’ve learned over the years, the successes, the challenges, the insights and, yes, the failures) can continue to inspire and guide others long after we’ve closed our doors.

Since 2013, we’ve been on a mission to show how events, big and small, can create lasting change. By funding programmes that focus on wellbeing to building stronger, more connected communities, we’ve seen the incredible impact that thoughtful, inclusive events can have. But we’ve always believed that the real magic lies in sharing what we’ve learned so others (like you!) can build on it.

A free and easy-to-use collection of over 200 resources.

That’s where the Knowledge Bank comes in. It’s a free and easy-to-use collection of over 200 resources. And it’s still growing. The knowledge bank is packed with reports, case studies and practical guides. So, if you’re planning a community event, designing a volunteering programme or looking to engage young people, you’ll find tools and insights to help you.

We’ve also worked with brilliant partners like Pro Bono Economics, Loughborough University and Belong Network to make sure the Knowledge Bank is as useful and relevant as possible. Their expertise has helped us dig deeper into what works and why, so you can take those lessons forward.

The Spirit of 2012 may be coming to an end, but the Knowledge Bank and the information on our wide website is here to stay. We hope it will inspire you to create events that matter and keep the legacy of 2012 alive.
